While many detox cleanse diets are quite simple, there are some tips for success that you can use to get your detox diet started for improved results. The idea of following a very simple cleanse diet plan for a few days can seem to be quite simple, but if you want to have the best results it also important to know what you need to do in the days leading up to your detox diet as well as what you need to do when you come off of your detox diet.

Clear out All Temptations

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for many people who undertake a detox diet is staying away from temptations. This is why it is imperative to go through your pantry and cabinets, and yes, even the fridge and freezer prior to your detox diet and remove foods that might tempt you while you are on your detox diet. Be brutal. Take it all out. Toss it in the trash or give it away, but avoid the temptation to binge right before you go on your detox diet.

Hydrate your Body

When you are doing a detox diet your body is going to be eliminating a lot of toxins. This usually takes on the form of increased perspiration and urination. As a result, you need to make sure that your body is fully prepared for this higher level of elimination to ensure that you do not become dehydrated. So, in the days leading up to your detox diet make sure that you getting plenty of water to drink. If you have a habit of not drinking enough water, now is a good time to start improved, healthy habits.

Lay off the Caffeine

Regardless of which type of detox diet you ultimately choose, you will need to forego caffeine as well as alcohol and tobacco when you are on the diet. One of the biggest problems for many people is the caffeine withdrawal they experience while on the diet. To help yourself, try tapering off caffeine, alcohol and tobacco several days before you actually plan to go on your detox diet to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Fasting Diets

In these times, the type of food that we eat isn’t exactly the most natural there is. We also live sedentary lives that are spent either at a desk or sitting in a car. If you add stress to the mix, then we end up overweight and, worst of all, full of toxins.

If you want to detox your body, and lose some weight in the process, you can try a fasting diet. It’s difficult to follow, but it’s worth it. Not only you will lose weight, but you’ll feel better in the end, both physically and psychologically.

Because a fasting diet is drastic, it’s better to consult with a specialist before you attempt to take it. He or she will tell you if it’s a good option for you, taking into account your specific health conditions and needs. If you have a medical condition, then you probably shouldn’t follow one, unless your health specialist approves it. However, if your health is good, then you can consider it as an option.

A fasting diet can vary greatly, according to the person that is advising you, and your personal needs. More likely than not, it’ll involve juices, although the harsher ones will involve taking only water.

There are usually three parts involved in a fasting diet. The first part is called pre fasting diet, or a similar name. This part is aimed at preparing your body for the fasting that will be ahead. In this phase, meat, bread, and any food that comes from an animal source will be eliminated. However, you will still be able to eat fruits, vegetables, and food that is rich in fiber. You will complement the rest of your diet with water, juice, or a mixture of both. Expect to drink about 3 quarts a day. This phase usually lasts 2 or 3 days.

The second part or a fasting diet is the juice or water fasting. This is the hardest part and it requires commitment and willpower from you. You will ingest nothing but vegetable juice, and maybe some fruit juice and water. Because you won’t be taking any solid food, it’s important that you arrange your life so that those days you have as little activity as possible. You’re going to need extra sleep and lots of rest during those days, so ask for help if necessary for any house chores you might need. This part of the fasting diet lasts 4 or 5 days.

The third and final part of the fasting diet is called re-introduction. This part is basically the reverse process. You start by eating fruits and vegetables, then introduce grains, and finally fats. This part takes as long as it’s necessary for your body to readjust.

Food Detox

Lately, there has been a trend towards leading a healthy lifestyle. It’s everywhere. Tons of products are now coming out in new versions that are supposed to make you look and feel healthier. New labels include words like “light, no fat, cholesterol free, lose weight, diet,” etc. There even some brands of beer that are coming out with their light versions.

Products for exercising both at home and at the gym are also becoming popular. From expensive or extravagant exercise equipment to small accessories, there is something for every need and budget.

An important aspect of leading a healthy lifestyle is keeping your body free from toxins. Years of bad habits, like smoking, have filled up our bodies with toxins that poison our bodies. Our bodies are designed to get rid of these toxins naturally by sweating, preferably through exercise. However, we usually lead lifestyles that don’t always give us the time we need to run until we sweat off all those toxins.

Sensing this need, some companies have designed products to give us a shortcut that will let us get rid of the toxins in easier, more practical ways.

Kinoki foot detox pads are the latest fad in body detox. These foot detox pads are placed on your feet and left there all night while you sleep. They adhere to your feet in a similar way that other body patches do.

Manufacturers and people claim that these foot detox patches absorb the toxins of your body, cleansisng it while you sleep, and making you feel better when you wake up in the morning. This process of foot detox is meant to be as effective in removing toxins from your body as normal sweating if not more. Or so the manufacturer says.

However, in my humble opinion, the effectiveness of these foot detox pads is questionable. While feet do sweat and expel toxins, the skin that covers them isn’t permeable (because the skin in general isn’t permeable), and thus these foot detox pads fall short of the promise of complete cleansing of the body. I believe you could wear a sweater all night and achieve the same result.

A reason people think these foot detox pads work is because they change color during the night. In reality, it’s the sweat of your feet that does this, and if you ever try just pouring a little water on the foot detox pads, you will get the same result.

To finish, I belevie that the effectiveness of foot detox pads is based on the willingness of people to believe they work. If you think they will work, most likely you will connect any health improvement to them. We shouldn’t underestimate the power of our own minds.
